2 x Fraser Gallop    'Parterre" Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Fraser Gallop is a relatively new label in the Margaret River which I first discovered 18 months ago when it was drawn to my attention whilst visiting Margaret River. The wine is deep ruby red in colour, with a complex nose displaying herbaceous Cabernet mixed with some briary blackberry fruit flavours, which I am sure will develop into that classic cigar box aroma over the next five to ten years. The palate has tons of concentrated fruit with fabulous length and intensity. Although delicious now, this wine will continue to improve over the next 5 to 10 years with good cellaring. At this price, the Fraser Gallop Parterre Cabernet Sauvignon, in my mind, out-performs many highly regarded Margaret River Cabernets which sell at two to three times the price - Ian

2 x Della Fay    Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

The colour is a deep cherry red. The bouquet shows a lovely blend of subtle French oak combined with a touch of herbaceous Cabernet aromas combined with briary blackberry fruit. The palate has clean intense rich fruit with tremendous length and lovely fine tannins on the finish.

1 x Domaine du Vieux College  2012 Marsannay Rouge Les Recilles

Les Recilles has a deep cherry red colour with just a touch of purple hue. The nose is dominated by the fruit with only a slight influence of oak. The palate is generous, soft and rounded, with lovely length of flavour finishing with soft, fine tannins. A lovely wine to drink over the next 6 to 8 years.

1 x Domaine du Vieux College  2012 Fixin Rouge Les Champs des Charmes

Once again you are struck with the intensity and depth of the colour. The nose has lovely complexity of sour cherries and forest floor aromas with just a hint of French oak. The palate has lovely sweet fruit whilst succumbing to a delightful dry finish with beautifully balanced tannins. Tremendous value for money, this wine puts many more expensive Burgundies in the shade.

We have two exciting wine dinners coming up.

The first will be held at Chianti Bistro in Clifton Hill on Wednesday 1st of July. This dinner will be an all Italian affair in partnership with one of Australia's leading Italian wine importers.

And on Tuesday 14th of July, Bastille Day, we will be holding a dinner with a distinctly French flavour at La Piazza in Bendigo. Set these dates aside for a wonderful night of good food, good wine and good company.

We will keep you up-to-date via our Facebook page and the website as we finalize the menus and wine lists.

Just a reminder that we still have taste packs from Della Fay Wines and our Rhone selection available on our website - Current Offers
